SKATING, SKATING AND MORE
An incredibly unique Competitive Power Skating Skills Program designed by Coach Glenn takes the traditional forms of Power Skating and utilizes what he calls Power Skating Accelerated which has been endorsed by Alex Ovechkin. It focusses primarily upon Quick and Rapid skating movements and Agility which contributes to better puck possession and guarantees improved game play:
- First Step Explosiveness and Quick Stops
- Agility, Balance, Co-ordination, Edge Control
- Backward/Forward, Turning, Crossovers, Pivoting
- MMaximum Speed, Quick Feet, Transition
PUCK HANDLING/PASSING AND STICK SKILLS
- Balance, Stance, Agility on Feet, Protection
- Stick-handling, Spinning, Feinting, Strength
- Weight shift to Propel Puck, Edge Transition, D to D
- Receiving Pass, Body/Stick Positioning to Score
- Competing for Puck Possession, Against Competitors In Offensive and Defensive Zones
THE SESSIONS (FULL ICE SURFACE USED) WILL BE TAUGHT AND THE PLAYERS WILL BE DIVIDED BY APPROPRIATE SKILL AND EXPERIENCE LEVELS WHEN REQUIRED. EACH PLAYER WILL BE TOTALLY READY FOR THE BALANCE OF THE SEASON AND PLAYOFFS
